This schoty or abacus from Russia has a wonderful rich patina to the wood that only comes from lots of handling and time. I’ve had it for awhile in my collection of primitive wood pieces. Seems like I found it in a Goodwill on my way to Asheville a few years ago. It appears to have all the beads which are made of wood. Some are dyed a dark color. The abacus measures 9 1/2″ tall by 6 1/4″ wide. Click on the photo to go to my current eBay auction for more photos and information.
Very Cool!
